Hi there!
I’m a delicious home cook, virtual cooking teacher and mustard maker ( see my products page for more on that). I’ve always loved to cook and bake. Since I was thirteen, I have been baking pies and perfecting the ultimate brownie. In college I routinely replicated the phenomenal sandwiches of the now famous Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor. On cold winter days, I cooked up homemade Jewish chicken soup (mom’s recipe) in my dorm room suite. Exploring new ingredients and experimenting in the kitchen brings me much joy, as does putting together a great meal and sharing it with friends and family.
I inspire community wherever I go. For me, it’s all about connecting people and food. Teaching virtual cooking classes gives me a wonderful outlet to do just that. It brings my passions all in one place and allows me to take you on an adventure, somewhere new and exciting all while learning to make delicious food to share with others. All from our own kitchens.
There’s nothing like the smile on someone’s face who is eating something you made with love.

I know my way around a professional kitchen as well. I’ve worked in numerous restaurants, serving, cooking, I even wore an oyster shucker glove way back in the day. And I worked for many Bay Area Catering companies, and catered on my own as well. And I taught in person cooking classes for time too (loved that). But my small yet functional home kitchen is where I’m most happy and where my tastiest food is created. So teaching others to cook great food in their kitchens, with their equipment–humble or fancy–has become an exciting new endeavor.
I also love to travel and explore the world and have been to numerous countries, forever curious about new cultures and people and especially about their food. People are invariably proud of their culinary history, and, with food, you always have an ice breaker when you’re getting to know someone from another country. Food and cooking break language barriers. Politics don’t stand a chance against making homemade pasta with someone or learning how to properly stir fry bok choy. Exploring the markets in Africa, trying new dishes at food stalls in Cambodia and Cuba and taking cooking classes in Thailand were among my favorite things to do when I was somewhere new.
And living in Rome, Italy, for three years was an astonishing experience that shaped me in a host of ways. The Italians are gregarious, warm, and generous. And of course, Italian cuisine is fabulous! With my extroverted personality, I talked my way into the kitchens of restaurants, side-of-the-road stands, and bakeries to chat with the cooks. But I felt most at home cooking in the kitchens of my friends’ mothers and nonas. I felt truly lucky to connect with people in such an organic and delicious way.
In March 2020 our world changed. Out of a new job, I had to reinvent myself-quickly. And so I did with the support and encouragement of good friends who knew my professional story. With this next chapter in life, my hope is you find me and my kitchen and wonder what it would be like to learn some exciting new dishes and get CREATIVE. You discover new markets and condiments and not just leave them for someday, but use them on a regular basis. My goal is for YOU to put a smile on your friend’s faces with the food you make with love when you traveled the world from your kitchen!
